SO, I hired a friend/awesome wedding photographer in town to shoot my family and take some updated pictures of ME for the web etc.  We had fun.  Josh is AWESOME – check him out.  He gave me the Raw images and I had my way with processing them :)   Here  are a few that are hanging in my house and they are BIG of course, nothing below 16×20!  Thanks, Josh – you are the BIIIIZOMB!  See my friends, urban shoots are what all the cool kids are doing!!

]]> http://www.bethjansenphotography.com/blog/my-fam/feed/ 6 LUSH GREEN MOMMYVILLE http://www.bethjansenphotography.com/blog/104/ http://www.bethjansenphotography.com/blog/104/#comments Fri, 22 May 2009 13:06:15 +0000 admin http://www.bethjansenphotography.com/blog/?p=104 Those who know me know that i get bored easily, change my mind all the time, like to move a lot, re-decorate a lot, make new friends all the time (OH, i keep the old ones!!) and probably change my outfit more on a daily basis than what is healthy.  I have this constant need for perpetual motion…I need to keep things fresh and new to survive mentally.  SO, shooting many, many clients in my own yard in one day is a challenge for me.  For those that have studios, i admire your endurance.  I’m not the best at repetition….so for the mother’s day shoot I knew I’d need help!  It was a really fun day.  Ali Wood, photograher from Dallas area came in to by my assistant, I had Matilda Jane Clothing, Born To Be Wild Clothing and Hey There Cupcake and pitchers upon pitchers of mimosas served up for all the fatigued moms by my hubby (those 20 minute shoots can wear ya out ;) .  It was hilarious, after the day was through I went in to the kitchen, filthy and a bit fatigued and I saw a bit of mimosas left in the pitcher.  So I asked my husband, ‘oh, did you only go through a pitcher today?’ He laughed at me….’Hun, that’s the 6th bottle of champagne i opened today.’  DAMN, ladies, you should of stayed for happy hour – and after that day you can bet your a** there was a happy hour ;)   Anyway, even when i was proofing all of these i couldn’t believe this was my yard.  It looks like the flippin Amazon (felt like it too that day).  Just missing a few spider monkeys!  Here are a few – and you moms, you all looked amazing!blog12blog221blog33blog41blog51blogbronsonbloghoganblog71blogweisblogthomphallblog

It’s been a great week. Not only did my new friend Brandon feature my stuff on an amazing blog, I got a call yesterday from my sales rep at Southwestern Publishing that they chose one of my photos to be the cover of May’s issue of Nichols Hills News. May is always the ‘Hot Mamas’ issue so I was excited when they decided to couple the annual recognition with the ‘Babes of Nichols Hills’ featuring many of my in to chubby, drooling, smiling people that make us laugh. PINCH ME – this is my JOB :) The magazine was delivered, (coincidentally) within hours of me posting Ms.(cover girl)Mia’s 8 month photo shoot. Here’s the cover and here’s Mia a few months later!

I also want to give a special THANKS to this family. Marsha See has been a premier photographer here in OKC and this is her grand baby. She has all but retired her camera and has been such a blessing to me – she refers all of those, ‘Marsha, can you just do one more shoot of my baby????’ requests to me. SO much so I’m shooting her own grandbaby. THANK YOU, I’m lucky to know you and your amazing family. My graditude is endless!
