About 7.5 years ago I was walking the pier in San Francisco solo – I was on a courier trip for the National Marrow Donor Program. An unrelated donor in Omaha had donated bone marrow and it was part of my job to fly it across country to get it to the receiving patient. It was always hard to turn down those trips and after the hand-off I would get a day or two in a city by myself. So as I was savoring my day in San Fran my sister called to give me some news…. she was pregnant! I would never forget that morning, I was so happy for her! Well, not two days later I found out that Mr. Wesley Jansen was on his way as well (kind of a surprise, but that goes along with most things in my life.. some of the best experiences and people in my life have been unexpected..). Ted and Wes ended up being born 6 days apart and have always been the best of friends. Ann and I would babysit each other’s kids and we were able to be in the same phases at the same time (some of them unhappy/digruntled phases but we had each other
. Now the boys are almost SEVEN and they are still best of buds. SO, when this shoot of two cousins came up it hit close to home. These boys are about 3 months apart and they will still grow up as brothers, share so many memories, beat the snot out of each other, get in trouble together, laugh together, so much life to live! This is my favorite age to shoot and these are some of my favorite clients. They even served me champagne (thanks to Marsha See – apparently when Marsha was shooting she’d always have champagne and chocolates for her brides when she was doing their sessions.. Not sure what kind of reputation i would get if I always brought along wine to shoots
. Anyway, shot these boys yesterday AM and had to share JUST a few. Back to my corner…..;)
